I went to Home Depot to buy the nuts and bolts for the fans. I got 1 ¼ inch, I should have gotten ¾ inch. Oh well. I also got some turtle mountain peanut butter zig zag and some stinky bean burritos. I still need to put the fans in; I have been lazy and have been watching TV. I watched the last part of Roman Holiday and later watched Uptown Girls.

Went to Georgia's house and got the software and updates loaded up. Hopefully it all works for her.

I hope I get my power supply soon. It is going to make things pretty, it has pretty matching blue lights.

I really fucked up today.

I bought another Seagate SATA 300 gig drive, installed it, then went into the motherboards SATA RAID settings and striped it with the already existing drive. This made it look like one 600 gig drive to Windows, so guess what?

That almost 300 gigs worth of music GONE!

GONE!

I can get it all back. It will take time, and I will have to rerip all my CDS, and copy the CDS I have already ripped, and redownload, but fuck that is so disappointing.

On a happier note, I got the case in the mail today so now \master has a new shell. I need to go through my boxes of computer stuff to see if I have the hardware to install my case fans, and I also the cable for the power lights is not long enough so I will need to extend that out to make it look pretty. I also looked at my power supply and it is 400 watts. I almost shit myself; I thought I had a 550 in there. I am running 2 CD/DVD ROMs, an AMD XP 3.2 and fan, 4 hard drives, a front case fan, a rear case fan (with more soon) 2 video cards one with a fan on it, and one of those hard drive cooling fans over the 4 fans. So when I saw 400 watts, I immediately went to Price Watch and bought a 700 watt for $50.

I have a bunch of pictures I need to upload; I will take pictures of the new \master and post those as well.

For some reason my battery back up is not working the way it should. I have been getting a bunch of brown outs causing all my electronics to shut off, and my battery is not kicking in. I need to write APC and see if they can help me with it or if it is time for a new battery. Fuck, just what I need, another $300 expense. I am already going to spend another $230 on memory, another $200 for a hard drive for the new \slave, and whatever else pops up. I am looking at probably $1000 total by June for computers.

Oh, one more fucking thing before I go. I got a call at work around 5:50am, it was my supervisior, she told me that I no longer need to log the escelatoins I have been logging the last almost month. Fuck ya! So I came in today, had Ian spend a few minutes setting up the script, and they are all gone. Deleted, no more. Out of here. There is no turning back. Hopefully I don't get another call with them changing their mind, well I guess it really doesn't matter anymore.

So Who Gives A Crap is starting to look good, I spent some time on it today and I only have a few more things to add/fix before I am happy with it. There was a shoutcast plug in that I had that I couldn't get to work with Jetcast, so I broke down, installed Winamp, and had to use Ice Cast and a Winamp plug-in to stream. So hopefully it is more stable than Jetcast, better be since I am taking up more processing power to do it. The feature I like best so far is the fact that I tell Winamp what directories to play music from and it does it and you can set it to automatically update, so now I can just drag and drop music in the folder and Winamp will come by and see it and add it to the play list. So using Winamp may be worth it. The new Livepress plug-in is really nice, it will update my tags in LJ with whatever I put in for my categories and so now I don't have to go back to LJ and manually put in my tags anymore, also this edition of Wordpress has better spam controls including better handling of referrer link spam in startraq.

I am so tired. I was up until 9 am this morning working on the site and was back up around 12. Between that and the music, I have been really busy. I need to work on cleaning the house; it is starting to look a lot like N.O. LA.

Not much else going on, work is really busy as far as the leads go, I had a bunch of mean nasty live escalations from the moment I got in, and there are over 80 to-dos of people escalated or requesting earlier timeframes. I tried to organize it the best I could, but it is hard to shuffle through all of them. We need more to-do categories to sort them out better.

I am generally a hand washing freak when it comes to cooking, I am always washing my hands, and this is something that has carried over from cooking for eleven years. Well, when I am fixing myself lunch or dinner, sometimes I will not wash my hands before I start touching utensils and handling containers and sometimes the food. However, if I make myself a drink, before I handle the ice, I will always wash my hands right before reaching into the freezer to grab the ice trays.

Yesterday when I was drinking my Rum and Coke, after a few swallows my face was warm and almost numb feeling for some reason. It was really an odd feeling.

I have had a Netflix account for a few months now trying to get the 2ge+her DVD, and it has never produced it's self. I went to Netflix to cancel the membership, but then I started seeing movies I wanted to watch, and then more movies, and now I have a queue. So, if you have Netflix and wanna be my friend and add to my queue I am at Netflix at crazycomputing.net. See you there!

I also decided to stop advertising on Vegweb. I was getting a lot of traffic from them, but to me it wasn't creating the results I was wanting. It may be Carrot Juice. Maybe there is too much, maybe there is not enough, maybe it is a combination of both, I am not sure. It may be a failure. I don't know, but it wasn't worth the $60 a month I was paying. I want to focus my time on Crazy Computing anyway. I need to put Carrot Juice on the back burner for a while and bring Crazy Computing forward. I can take that $60 and use it to put in ads in the local community papers and make money off of it.

I need to start focusing on Crazy Computing. I need to get it off the ground. I am now paying $60 a month for shitty Nextel service so I can have a second line. I need to get off my ass and print up bumper stickers and advertise and print up a bunch more business cards and start leaving them around for people to see and stuff.

* Deep Thought of the day

I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

So today I have been working on tagging all my entries. I started on my very first entry I posted in vegan in 2000. I started tagging in c0c0c0 and will do vegan next. Right now I am at the point where I have just moved into the apartment I am currently in. I have a long way to go. This will probably take me a week or two.

I ran across this entry⦠It shows that five years ago I was making less than half the amount of money I am now⦠I am so glad I am where I am now. Not the best, but definitely livable.

I am also working on converting and tagging a couple of new live performances of Jason Ricci. He is supposed to come back to Florida in December. Hopefully he will be back in St Pete.

Opera is celebrating their 10 year anniversary. They are giving away free reg codes for a limited time. Get them while they last! Opera is a good alternative to IE and it works on ALL platforms! I have been using it a bit, and so far I like it. (You know me, I won't pay $40 for software when I can get a good or better alternative for free *cough*Firefox or Mozilla*cough*


If you get a subpoena from the RIAA, don't settle, let them take you to court! This lawyer will represent you, and more importantly it will help take away from their lawsuit campaign because it costs the RIAA more money to go to court than what they are trying to collect from you the unsuspecting file sharer! Remember kids it is not against the law to download; only to share those downloads.




I need to clean out the turtle tank and the filter today too. This new filter is now tending to get clogged easily. Not sure why.

I am trying to figure out what I want for dinner too. It is a toss up between fries and stir fry. I have the stuff to make enchiladas too. Hmm.

I wanted to watch Call For Help today but about 10 minutes into it my dad called and ended up talking to me for over an hour. It looks like he is going to be moving to the Homestead / Florida City area again. He is going out in the middle of September for his interview. He said that the guy who is his contact at the power plant told him that the list is really really short, so reading in between the lines it is him, and the interview is pretty much just a formality. He will be making a pretty decent amount of money. His plan is to stay there for about 5 years, make as much cash as he can and then get the hell out of there and live off of that, or get his grapes started. I am not sure what he is going to do after the 5 years there. I hope that he either stays, or decides to move to St. Pete.

Malaysia targets mobile phone sex

The Malaysian government has ordered police to randomly check mobile phones for pornographic images.
The move follows reports by a local newspaper that young people were swapping sex videos and images on their mobile phones. Deputy Interior Minister, Noh Omar, said he worried the practice was becoming increasingly common.

Call For Help is back on the air in the US!

Well it doesnâ™t look like anyone else is going to announce it so Iâ™ll confirm what most of you have already guessed. If you check your Tivo or Yahoo! TV listings youâ™ll notice that Call for Help is back on the schedule at G4.

G4 has purchased the show for air in the US. I will continue to fly to Toronto to produce it, and weâ™re not changing a thing. In fact, as those of you who have been watching it know, itâ™s really more like the Screen Savers of old than Call for Help used to be, especially now that Kevin Rose has agreed to appear on the show twice a week. Weâ™ll get Patrick up to Toronto, too, I promise.

Starting August 29 CFH will be on G4 weekdays at 11a Eastern/8a Pacific and weekends at 6 and 7a Eastern. If enough of you watch Iâ™m sure weâ™ll be able to move to a better spot in the schedule. G4 has also purchased the last four months of programs so there will be lots of great stuff from many of your TechTV favorites including Kevin, Alex Lindsay, Steve Gibson, Mr. Excel Bill Jelen, Dick DeBartolo, and of course my Canadian cohort, Amber, Andy, Mike, and Sean.
