“Well, how about a real update? Of sorts…


Earlier this week or late last week (Fri or Mon?) I was speaking to my dad, and he mentioned he might move to Florida. See before Andrew he was working as a fire and security instructor for Turkey Creek Power Plant just outside of Homestead Florida. He wrote the training and safety manual while he was there and Andrew shut the plant down for a while which forced him to move back to Oklahoma to find another job. He has a friend who still works there and the power plant has been looking for a new instructor and his friend mentioned my dad and called my dad to see if he is interested. My dad said sure since he will be making a lot more money and he applied there and is waiting to hear back. I think he is a shoe in because 1. He wrote the manual, and 2. They have been looking for a long time with no one qualified to do what they need to do.

This is going to be really cool if he gets it because he will only be around 4 hours away from me and I can go down and visit him or he can visit me. And while I am in Homestead I might be able to go to Miami or Key West and I will have a place to stay and stuff. I really hope it works out for him. He will be leaving behind his mom and his girlfriend. I suggested bringing grandma with, but he wants to hold on to the farm and needs her there. I am scared though because she is getting to the point to where she needs someone there to watch her.

There was a really bad storm at around 530pm and lightning struck really close and I have been in a cable outage since about 5:40 it is 820 pm now. Luckily The 40 Year Old Virgin just barely finished downloading, so I watched that on my DVD player. It was pretty funny, especially the hair scene you see in the trailer. Now I am watching "Iron Maiden - From Here To Eternity".

I made enchiladas (again!) today. Last night I made homemade enchilada sauce. It tasted a bit bitter, I think I fucked up by adding ¼ raw red onion; I should have sautéed it first. I had to mellow it out with sugar and a roux. It turned out tasting pretty good in the end. Not perfection at all. I think I will know what to do next time. It should come out better next time.

I have accomplished nothing of what I should have accomplished today. By the time I was up and ready for the post office they were already closed, so what I am going to do is go tonight and do everything except my international package, then go tomorrow before work for that. I also am going to get some laundry done once Maiden is done. Fucking cable better come back on by 11 so I can watch Stewart.”
