This weekend I spent my spare time updating my wordpress install. The install it's self went pretty quick. The part that took the most time was updating my plugins and also removing the remnants of the plugins that no longer work with the latest wordpress and haven't been updated. There was a few that I am sad to see go, and I am going to have to search out to find something similar. The site seems to run a lot faster now, and I am working on some things to see if I can get it to run a bit faster. I am going to re evaluate all the plug ins and see what I can get rid of.

Try out the new speed. It will be worth it.

There are still a couple of bugs here and there I am trying to work on, they will be fixed soon.

I am getting excited for my vacation coming up. I have everything I ordered except for the extra batteries for my laptop. I am getting worried about that. I contacted Google telling them I haven't gotten any response from the people I bought the batteries from. I sent the people I bought the batteries from a couple of emails the last week with no response at all. If I don't hear anything back in a week then I am going to request a refund.

Oh My Mother Earth! I just fucked up big time!

I crated a couple of .htaccess files to move the old gallery into the new one with no errors and then started deleting the old gallery (Old pictures will have a broken image... working on that one next... and when I started deleting I fucked up and was in the wrong folder and started deleting the core files for the blog! Fuck fuck fuck! I restored the core files and re upped the config file, everything seems fine, but I am going to have to watch it and make sure it is all good, I think it started deleting files out of the forums too â“ looked like language files so I hope I am all good.

Official Announcement

The government today announced that it is changing its emblem from an Eagle to a CONDOM because it more accurately reflects the government's political stance. A condom allows for inflation, halts production, destroys the next generation, protects a bunch of pricks, and gives you a sense of security while you're actually being screwed.

Well, I think it is time for a bit of an update. Really not much going on here. Just work and sleep then rinse and repeat. work has been really busy, I have a bunch of stuff that I need to log that should have been done weeks ago, and things have been breaking causing a lot of issues for people. It is weird because lately it hasn't been just one thing breaking, it has been really weird, because it hasn't been just one thing breaking, it has been several things at once both internally and externally. Makes us all go bat shit over here. A really nice compliment to customer service week.

Sunday I watched 8 episodes of Weeds, and watched episode 9 on Tuesday. It is a really funny and good show. If you have Showtime you should really check it out. It is about a lady played by the beautiful Mary-Louise Parker named Nancy Botwin. She lives in Southern California suburbia where all the houses look a like and everyone drives the same cars. Her husband dies of a sudden heart attack and she has to figure out how she is going to support her two boys so she decides to sell weed. Her biggest customer, accountant and money launderer is Doug Wilson played byKevin Nealon. Doug also happens to be the head of the city counsel as well. There is also a side story going on in the name of Celia Hodes (played by Elizabeth Perkins) and her family that has some funny funnies in it.

I am really hooked, I wish it was an hour instead of 30 minutes, it leaves you wanting more.

So for those of you that bothered to look at blog your news, what do you think? Do you think it will take off? Do you like the idea, the concept, the layout? Find it easy to use, easy on the eyes? Or is it shit?

I have most of the new site done. I am having a couple of issues with the way a couple of the plugins are handling the way the theme I am using is parsing the data, hope to get that worked out soon. If I have to I will see about modifying and creating a theme for page view for one, and the other I might have to make it call to the database it's self if I can figure that one out. Right now it is scraping the data as it is presented on the page. I still need to look for a way to rate articles. I might have to find a script and hope it will work with wordpress. Unless I can talk Ana into making one for me⦠Right now my main concerns are going to be getting the links in the places I want, creating the links (deciding what I want linked) and getting the banners together. I have an idea on how I want my banners to look, and part of that is going to be something close to home, which I am waiting on dad to get to me. Oh, I also want to include an "I agree" check mark in the register form as well.

Work has posted a bunch of odd art work on the walls. There is one piece of art that looks like a big fallopian tube:

Sorry I haven't updated or commented in a while, I have been busy working on the new page. I am working on getting everything set up right now. I will probably start working on banners later today or tomorrow. I really like how it is turning out so far. The things that are currently frustrating me the most is I want to have people rate articles and I don't want to do a third party site to do it. Who Gives A Crap uses News Gator as it's voting system, and I am looking for something more internal. I might have to find a PHP/SQL script and see if I can integrate that into Wordpress somehow. Also I want the pages I have set up to use a single column instead of the default 2 column that is in the theme, but looking through the code I am not seeing anything that differentiates the two. I looked at the CSS sheet as well with no luck.

Today my video card arrived; I am back to dual monitor set up on \master. I should try to find a cheep flat panel on eBay and set up a dual monitor set up on \slave as well. The real estate is nice. If I had the desk space, I would buy a dual head video card and set up three monitors on \master. Oh shit! That just reminded me; ever since I updated the firmware on \testure I have been able to see shared files on \master from \slave. I should remember that so I can get into /music instead of FTPing all the time.

I need to start sleeping better. I have been only getting a couple of hours of sleep during the day. I should put my phones on vibrate all the time so I am not woken up by my dad. This lack of sleep is making me not do the things I need to do during the day. I am now completely dead tired, but at the same time when I get home I will probably be up until 10 am working on stuff for the web pages.
