Today I finished cleaning out the pantry and sprayed it thoroughly with some bleach water. I still need to scrub the shelves a bit and then put the stuff back. It has not been a fun process. I through out a lot of stuff. I need to get more coffee filters too, they were all in those.

I don't know why, but for some reason I have had to pee so many times tonight at work, like once every two hours or something. I have not consumed more liquid refreshment than normal which makes it even more weirder.

If you send eight something e-mails to yoru ISP all about the same issue don't you think that the ISP is going to consider that spam or delete all the messages and only respond to one? Then it is not our fault for not doing our job and not knowing the proper issue and responding accordingly? I mean WTF?

I really fucked up today.

I bought another Seagate SATA 300 gig drive, installed it, then went into the motherboards SATA RAID settings and striped it with the already existing drive. This made it look like one 600 gig drive to Windows, so guess what?

That almost 300 gigs worth of music GONE!

GONE!

I can get it all back. It will take time, and I will have to rerip all my CDS, and copy the CDS I have already ripped, and redownload, but fuck that is so disappointing.

On a happier note, I got the case in the mail today so now \master has a new shell. I need to go through my boxes of computer stuff to see if I have the hardware to install my case fans, and I also the cable for the power lights is not long enough so I will need to extend that out to make it look pretty. I also looked at my power supply and it is 400 watts. I almost shit myself; I thought I had a 550 in there. I am running 2 CD/DVD ROMs, an AMD XP 3.2 and fan, 4 hard drives, a front case fan, a rear case fan (with more soon) 2 video cards one with a fan on it, and one of those hard drive cooling fans over the 4 fans. So when I saw 400 watts, I immediately went to Price Watch and bought a 700 watt for $50.

I have a bunch of pictures I need to upload; I will take pictures of the new \master and post those as well.

For some reason my battery back up is not working the way it should. I have been getting a bunch of brown outs causing all my electronics to shut off, and my battery is not kicking in. I need to write APC and see if they can help me with it or if it is time for a new battery. Fuck, just what I need, another $300 expense. I am already going to spend another $230 on memory, another $200 for a hard drive for the new \slave, and whatever else pops up. I am looking at probably $1000 total by June for computers.

Oh, one more fucking thing before I go. I got a call at work around 5:50am, it was my supervisior, she told me that I no longer need to log the escelatoins I have been logging the last almost month. Fuck ya! So I came in today, had Ian spend a few minutes setting up the script, and they are all gone. Deleted, no more. Out of here. There is no turning back. Hopefully I don't get another call with them changing their mind, well I guess it really doesn't matter anymore.

Things I need to do before 9:

Dump enough .temp files to clear up 40g on stuff on \master
Dump the 20 gig drive on stuff and then ffr the 20 gig.
Make sure \gravy has updated files in the field profile
Flash the bios in one of the Motorola wireless and pack it with \gravy

I thought about the drives I need to buy today, and I am thinking that I am going to buy a SATA card and 2 SATA drives; I also remembered that this next check is going to roll me into vacation, so I need to hold off on the drives until at least the check in mid November. I am probably going to kill emule for a while because my 300 gig is almost tapped off, and my 120 which I use for temp files is almost completely full. What I am thinking about is buy 2 more 300 gigs, stripe one with the 300 I have now to make that a 600 gig, move the current on the SATA card I am going to buy (If I can find a cheep 5 port), use the other 300 gig for temp files and use the 120 for FTP and \documents and settings. I hope to eventually have at lest a terra for music. I will have 600 by the end of November, so a terra can be achievable by March. Before I go up to a terra I want to slap in 2 gigs (maybe 3) of RAM and have \slave up and running. I am thinking that \slave might run my FTP server, either that or I might install apache with mysql and PHP running and use that as a learning environment and actually learn PHP/SQL, I suppose I could do all, since I won't have that much overhead since it will be internal. I will have to see once I get there.

I went to the Post Office today, and only part of my shipment was there, I got the fans for the case for \master, but no case. I was a bit disappointed over that fact. I was also thinking that the case I bought may not have enough bays for the hard drives I plan on upgrading to. I think I bought a 10 bay case and I have 2 (maybe 3) for CD/DVD and 7 for hard drives. I might have to take out the 120 all together, either that or go strictly SATA in \master and use the 20 and 120 in \slave. I am going to have to think about that. I would hate to have to buy another case because I have no room. I guess I could go external for SATA, but that is messy.

I wonder how much money Uncle George is going to give me in March. I am hoping for $2,000. Whatever I get is going to be used for Spain that is for damm sure. Hopefully I can go before June. I think I can make it to Spain with $2,000. I don't need to worry about a hotel room or a taxi. I need to look at my paycheck stub and take out about 40% or so and the rest will be mine. George usually takes about a grand from me, and this has been a good year for me with commission, and a couple of raises and lots of overtime. For some reason I didn't get my last check stub. I need to send an email to the sups so I can tell them where to hide it. Ok, that is done.

Time to post this and then get the e-mail together for job pick ups.

For those of you that are interested in pictures of cable plants, here is a link with lots of pictures of a small cable plant in Canada. It is not even close to the size of our cable plant, but I think that the size will give a general feel of things. The main thing other than size that is different between that and ours is that is a straight coax plant and ours is a coax/fiber hybrid, meaning that the coax out of the Cisco 72xx goes into a device that changes the RF to a fiber connection and it is a fiber connection all the way up to a node close to your house then it changes the laser light back to rf to the house. Pretty interesting stuff.

I am glad tomorrow is pay day. I have a bunch of stuff I need to do. First and foremost I need to pay insurance, then I need to pay electric. I also need to go to Rollin Oats and buy brown sugar and some more tubes of un-petroleum for work and home. Then I need to head on over to pets mart and buy the Fluval 404. Maybe get a bite to eat and then head home and rest some more before work. After I need to set up an account at e-trade so I can shuffle funds between EFFCU and Florida Central and then move $50 into the savings and set it to automatically do it every 2 weeks. Hopefully I wake up on time to get going and run my errands. Today I had a meeting at work at 2 PM, so I had to wake up "in the middle of the night" and come for work to do that, and when I got home I had to force myself up to go to work tonight and I am still feeling groggy over that.

So there is this redneck couple who live in the front of the plex, and they have a Tigger fetish. They have several Tigger stickers on their trucks. These rednecks have decided to buy or rent one of those 14 foot blow up Tigger things as their Halloween decorations. How in the hell is Tigger even remotely related to Halloween? What because Halloween gives you an excuse to put shit in front of the doorway of your apartment that you think you can put that god awful thing there?

Tonight at work things have been pretty slow, I definitely didn't get enough sleep today, I am ready to crash big time. The caffeine I have ingested is definitely not helping me one bit right now.

So beginning Oct. 17th, my company is going to be offering 2 new speeds: 10 Mbps down, 1 Mbps up and 15 Mbps down and 2 up for an extra $10 and $15 respectively. The thing is it is only for Roadrunner and the subscriber has to be in the Digital combo or digital combo plus packages to qualify. The cool part of the whole deal is employees can get the speeds and only pay the extra $10 or $15 a month, so I am definitely getting the 15/2 package. Fuck ya!

I need to try to manage my sleeping habits and get myself into a pattern. I was awake until noon and luckily woke up around 615, so I had time to do a couple of things around the house and then get ready for work. I would prefer to fall asleep soon after I get home and sleep until around 2 or 3.

There is an air show this weekend in St Pete that I am going to go to, should be fun, I will tell you all about it when I go. I will make sure to take my camera as well.

I am glad it is Friday, what a long hard week. I think I am going to make a couple of rum and cokes when I get home and pass out.

Progress Energy can fuck off! Last months bill - $199. This month's bill is $189. This time last year I paid $80. Fuckers. I am going to end up paying the fucking $199 on the 16th and putting a hold on the next month's as well. I am not happy.

For those of you that do not know, there is a big issue with one of the major players in the Internet world who has cut access for a lot of people affecting a lot of ISPs and sites. There is an article about it here on DSL Reports as well as some good (and bad) insight in the comments below. Here is another good article from Silicon.com. This has caused a lot of our subscribers to call and e-mail and think that our ISP is blocking certain sites, or think that we have control over it and we can fix it. The funny thing is I almost had an escalation tonight over it but the sub decided to tell the tech he was going to switch to DSL and hang up, but Evil Telephone Company (ETC) is having the same exact issue. Now one thing that you can do is connect through a Proxy and you will be able to get to the sites in question, as long as the proxy you are connecting to can go to Cogent sites. I might have to set that up in order to be able to see pictures hosted by Photobucket. Anyway kids, it isn't your ISP doing it, it is your ISP's ISP's ISP's peer causing the connection, if you want to complain to someone, complain to Level 3 Communications.

Well, I think it is time for a bit of an update. Really not much going on here. Just work and sleep then rinse and repeat. work has been really busy, I have a bunch of stuff that I need to log that should have been done weeks ago, and things have been breaking causing a lot of issues for people. It is weird because lately it hasn't been just one thing breaking, it has been really weird, because it hasn't been just one thing breaking, it has been several things at once both internally and externally. Makes us all go bat shit over here. A really nice compliment to customer service week.

Sunday I watched 8 episodes of Weeds, and watched episode 9 on Tuesday. It is a really funny and good show. If you have Showtime you should really check it out. It is about a lady played by the beautiful Mary-Louise Parker named Nancy Botwin. She lives in Southern California suburbia where all the houses look a like and everyone drives the same cars. Her husband dies of a sudden heart attack and she has to figure out how she is going to support her two boys so she decides to sell weed. Her biggest customer, accountant and money launderer is Doug Wilson played byKevin Nealon. Doug also happens to be the head of the city counsel as well. There is also a side story going on in the name of Celia Hodes (played by Elizabeth Perkins) and her family that has some funny funnies in it.

I am really hooked, I wish it was an hour instead of 30 minutes, it leaves you wanting more.
